Your flooring comes first
Check your flooring manufacturer’s care instructions before considering steam. Heat and moisture may be unsuitable for your particular floor or finish. A steam mop is not a universal upgrade.
Compare the whole cleanup
Think about filling a tank or bucket, moving a cord, changing pads, and washing them afterward. Both approaches need clean pads and an appropriate routine. Compare reach and storage with the rooms you actually clean.
Choose the lower-friction routine
If your existing mop works and is easy to use, keep it. If considering a steam mop, verify surface compatibility and read its operating instructions. Do not add cleaning solutions to a steam tank unless the manufacturer explicitly permits them.
